Planning your trips:
How to pack a sea kayak – This diagram from Sea Kayaker’s Savvy Paddler by Doug Alderson offers a sensible “How-to” guide for packing your sea kayak for a multiday excursion.
Float Plan – Before any kayak outing, you should leave an outline of the trip details with a trusted contact onshore. Included should be info about each paddler, departure and arrival info and instructions for what to do if something unexpected occurs. Print copies of this float plan and fill them out before your next adventures.
